Welcome to the official web site for Tayport Instrumental
Band, a Brass Band based in Tayport, northern Fife, Scotland. The Band was
founded over 100 years ago, and is still going strong, with a regular complement
of over 25 members, some from as far afield as Canada! As a group, we are part
of the wider brass band band movement being members of both
Fife Charities Band
Association (FCBA) and the
Scottish Brass Band Association (SBBA).
As well as participating in brass band contests, the band does a significant
number of engagements throughout the year both inside and outside its local
community. You'd probably be surprised at the wide range of music which a modern
town band such as Tayport has to offer - from classics to the big band sound!
Whether you're responsible for organising an outdoor summer fete, or in-house
carol singing for your hotel during the Christmas season, Tayport Band can

For brass players coming to study in the area and looking for a brass or silver
band to play with, Tayport is very close to Scotland's "City of Discovery"
Dundee, with its two universities (University of Dundee and University of
Abertay), as well as Dundee College. St. Andrews University, Elmwood College and
Perth College are all also within easy travelling distance of Tayport.
